Independence Day with the Chicas at Egg-it (Part II)

Next stop for our Independence Day foodtrip was Egg-it. I saw Egg-it on my Facebook Newsfeed courtesy of Spot.ph the night before. As it turns out, this waffle shop is just next door to Pomodoro Pizza!

Egg-it Menu
Service

You know how it feels when you ask your server about the menu and they reply in a tone that sounds like: "why don't you just order already?" You won't get treated that way at Egg-it. Service is excellent! The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a lot of questions about their menu items and they were more than happy to answer. They even asked to take a photo of us and posted it on their Instagram.
For 2-in-1 flavors add 20 Php
2-in-1 Reese's and Bananutella (110 Php)

None of us have tried Hong Kong Style waffles so this our first time. The pancake itself tastes all right and it was fluffy even though it was made into bubbles. The best thing about Egg-it waffles is that their toppings to pancake ratio is good! I didn't find myself finishing off topping-less pancake bubbles.

Bill came in this tin
Things to note:

Just like at Pomodoro Pizza, Egg-it didn't issue usSales Invoice either. Then again, we didn't ask for one. Always ask for a receipt!

Would eat again?

Yes! I'd like to go back and try their savory egg-it waffle flavor: Black Pepper Spam with Cheese and new menu item: quesadillas. (I should've taken a picture of the poster. Apologies!)

Independence Day with the Chicas at Pomodoro Pizza (Part I)

Pomodoro Pizza Menu
My friends, Joyce and Pauline, and I went out last Independence Day on another food trip. First stop: Pomodoro Pizza!

Saw Pomodoro Pizza mentioned as a comment on a post about restaurants to visit in Kapitolyo.

Pomodoro Kitchen
The Pizza
12" House Special (170 Php)
If you love cheesy pizzas like we do, you'll love the House Special. Pauline is a fan of thin crust pizzas, and she especially liked that the dough was thin and chewy and not the usual thin and crispy.

The Pasta
Pesto with Italian Chicken (109 Php) - Photo Courtesy of Joyce
Bataan Tinapa Pasta (109 Php) - Photo Courtesy of Joyce
We all thought the pastas lacked flavor. Both were a little dry. Their serving size is good for one person only. Here are pictures so you can see how much pasta there was on a plate:

Pesto with Italian Chicken
Bataan Tinapa Pasta
Homemade Iced Tea (30 Php)
The Homemade Iced Tea was cold and refreshing, but it was also bland.

Bill:
The bill came in a cute shopping cart!
Things to note:

We weren't issued a Sales Invoice. Then again, we didn't ask for one. Always ask for a receipt!

Would eat again?

I'll probably skip on the pasta and drinks, but if I'm in the area I'll definitely order pizza.

Chicas at Epic Coffee Roastery Kapitolyo

Epic Coffee Roastery (Photo courtesy of Joyce)
I've been to Epic Coffee Roastery before. My latest visit was a week ago with two of my friends for dessert after grabbing breakfast at Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. We came for the handcrafted ice cream, but ended up ordering a slice of Belgian Chocolate cake too.

What Joyce had to say about Epic Coffee Roastery:

Looking for a peaceful ambience from your usual crowded, coffee tambayan shops? Let me suggest this small coffee shop that is a recent addition to the growing number of food shops at a now commercialized Brgy. Kapitolyo in Pasig City (said to be the new Maginhawa Street). They serve a variety of coffees and teas, delectable cakes and pastries, freshly-cooked meals, handmade artisan ice cream, etc. The coffee shop'sambience has this retro feel with classic bikes display and classic stuff from the 70's. But boy, you guys should try their Barako-flavored artisan handmade ice cream. For someone who needs a different kind of jolt not in a coffee cup. I absolutely love it. :)

Chicas gets Kantofied! Kanto Freestyle Breakfast Kapitolyo

Back of the Menu (Photo Courtesy of Joyce)
Kanto Freestyle Breakfast was recommended to us by my friend, Joyce. I've also seen some of my Facebook friends post pictures of their Kanto Style meals. Those, along with a few TV reviews, were more than enough to convince me and my friends to check it out.

We arrived at Kanto Freestyle Breakfast a little past 8 AM. We were already the second ones there! Before 9 AM 5 tables were already occupied.

Menu
 My Order:
Hot Chocolate
I asked what the Hot Chocolate was made of and the server said it was Swiss Miss with Marshmallows.
Spanish Sardines Tempura with Tomato Pesto (P90)
I should have asked what the dip was but it was spicy. I thought I would be getting sundried tomato pesto on top of my rice, but the Tomato Pesto was actually tomato slices with pesto on top.

Joyce's Order:
French Toast (P50)
Fresh Fruit Muesli (P80)
Joyce let me taste this one. It wasn't Muesli. It's only oatmeal with pieces of fresh fruit. It was delicious nonetheless.
Fried Oreos (P50)
Iced Cofee (P30)
What Joyce had to say about her Kanto Style meal:
After an exhausting hill repeats, time for a healthy breakfast with the chicas.Fresh fruit muesli and french toast. Devour!!! :) #postrunmeal #postworkoutfood#healthyfood #freshfruits #chicas
Chin's Order:
Eggs Benedict (P90)
Chin asked how big the Eggs Benedict's bread was and the server disclosed that they use Pan de Manila's pandesal. We were also told that the 'sauce' is made with egg yolk with white wine and calamansi.

Chin also had Hot Chocolate with her meal.

All these yummies (including service charge) cost us less than P500! Sulit!
